A skiver device is comprises of an ultrasonic knife and its holder, an upper floating roller assembly with a material lead-in device which guides the material to the knife blade, a roller anvil assembly with material lead-in and support rollers providing support of the underside of the material during cutting, an upper material separation device and a lower material separation device, which cooperate to keep apart the edge of the material supply roll and the edge of the severed strip as the cut progresses. These elements are supported from a traversing carriage which moves along a rail supported transversely with respect to a path along which a web of uncured rubber material is guided as the material is fed from a supply roll. The rail may extend at a predetermined angle to the web path so as to make a diagonal cut across the web material, and the knife is supported to cut the web material at an acute angle to the surfaces of such material, e.g. a skive type of cut. The skiver device incorporates the roller anvil assembly and a floating roller assembly, with freely independently rotatable arrays of rollers supported in close association with a skiver knife (preferably an ultrasonically excited knife), to control closely the positioning of the uncured rubber material from which the skiver knife will serve strips of predetermined width, and to provide separation devices which keep the edges of material apart as the severing action proceeds.
Cette invention concerne une machine à refendre comportant un couteau à excitation ultrasonique monté sur un support, un ensemble supérieur de rouleaux flottants muni d'un dispositif d'amenée du matériau à découper vers le couteau, une enclume tournante avec rouleaux d'amenée et de soutien du matériau par le dessous en cours de coupe, un dispositif supérieur de séparation des bandelettes découpées et un dispositif analogue inférieur qui agissent ensemble pour séparer les rives du matériau déroulé et de la bandelette découpée au fur et à mesure de la progression du couteau. Ces éléments sont montés sur un chariot qui se déplace sur un rail disposé en travers de la trajectoire de déroulage de la bande continue de matériau non vulcanisé à refendre. Le rail peut être établi selon un angle prédéterminé par rapport à la trajectoire précitée de façon que la coupe se fasse selon un angle aigu par rapport à la surface du matériau à refendre pour donner, par exemple, une rive amincie. L'objet de l'invention comprend une enclume tournante précédée d'un groupement de rouleaux de soutien du matériau à rotation indépendante établi à proximité immédiate du couteau à refendre (de préférence un couteau à excitation ultrasonique), l'ensemble ayant pour fonction de régler avec précision la position de la bande de caoutchouc non vulcanisé à refendre à une largeur prédéterminée et de maintenir séparées les rives du bandelettes en cours de coupe.
