A device (10) for supporting an ultrasonic transducer used for ultrasonic defect testing of pipe comprises: a transducer locating portion (12) adapted for positioning adjacent to a pipe to locate the transducer in proximity of the pipe; and a guide surface (14) associated with the transducer locating portion such that, when the device is moved relative to the pipe, the guide surface can engage and traverse hindrances in the pipe to such relative device movement. Apparatus (50) for rotationally positioning one or more of the ultrasonic transducer supporting devices (10) in proximity of the pipe to enable ultrasonic defect testing thereof, comprises means (52) for rotating the or each device around at least part of the pipe's circumference whilst maintaining the or each device in proximity of the pipe. In addition, an arrangement for ultrasonic defect testing of lengths of pipe comprises: a support frame (150) in which two or more carriages (50) can be supported and moved, each carriage supporting one or more ultrasonic transducers for positioning in proximity of the pipe; and means (154) for positioning a length of pipe in proximity with one of the carriages.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) destiné à supporter un transducteur à ultrasons servant à tester un tuyau au moyen d'ultrasons afin de détecter des défauts. Le dispositif selon l'invention comporte une partie de positionnement de transducteur (12) conçue pour le positionnement du transducteur à côté d'un tuyau ; et, une surface guide (14) associée à la partie de positionnement de transducteur, de telle manière que lorsque le dispositif est déplacé par rapport au tuyau, la surface guide peut s'encastrer dans le tuyau et surmonter des obstacles au mouvement. L'invention concerne également un dispositif (50) destiné au positionnement rotatif d'un ou plusieurs dispositifs supports de transducteurs à ultrasons (10) à proximité du tuyau de manière à permettre un test à ultrasons du tuyau. Ledit dispositif (50) comporte des éléments (50) de rotation du ou des dispositifs autour d'au moins une partie de la périphérie du tuyau, maintenant le ou les dispositifs à proximité du tuyau. Par ailleurs, l'invention concerne un système de test à ultrasons de sections longitudinales de tuyaux. Ledit système comporte un cadre support (150) dans lequel deux supports (50) peuvent être logés et déplacés, chaque support portant un ou plusieurs transducteurs à ultrasons destinés à être positionnés à proximité du tuyau, et des éléments (154) destinés à disposer une section longitudinale du tuyau à proximité d'un des supports.
