2105471 9213498 PCTABS00014 An ultrasonic toothbrush (10) for use in personal dental hygiene care includes an exchangeable ultrasonic implement (15) which may be rigidly and removably mounted to an ultrasonic power supply (12) and readily removed therefrom with a relatively small separating force. Provision is made for coupling the ultrasonic implement (15) to the power supply (12) and is arranged to transfer the ultrasonic energy from the power supply (12) to the ultrasonic implement (15) with the power supply (12) remaining substantially free from absorbing ultrasonic energy as the vibratory energy is transmitted therethrough.
