This invention is an ultrasonic device (10) with increased efficiency as a result of substantially increased pressure uniformity across individual PZTs, and through the PZT stack (12). Specifically, the PZT stack (12) is uniformly compressed by way of a bolt (16) having a head that has a surface area roughly equal to the surface area of the individual piezoelectric elements. The bolt (16) is further combined with an aft end bell (14) that has a reduced surface contact with the bolt head (22), and a larger surface with the adjacent piezoelectric stack (12).

L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) ultrasonique présentant une efficacité accrue grâce à une augmentation sensible de l'uniformité de pression dans les parties piézo-électriques (PZT) individuelles, et dans la pile (12) de PZT. Spécifiquement, la pile (12) de PZT est comprimée uniformément au moyen d'un boulon (16) qui comporte une tête présentant une surface utile à peu près égale à la surface utile des éléments piézo-électriques individuels.
