In a method of identifying gaseous bubbles in a liquid, an ultrasound contrast agent is introduced into the liquid so as to form gaseous bubbles in the liquid. A first ultrasound pulse centered at a first frequency is directed onto the bubbles so as to cause the bubbles to undergo a first oscillating size change and produce a first oscillating echo signal corresponding thereto. The first oscillating echo signal produced by the bubbles is detected, and the bubbles are identified based upon the detected first echo signal.

Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé qui permet d'identifier des bulles gazeuses dans un liquide et qui consiste à cet effet à introduire un agent de contraste à ultrasons dans le liquide en question afin d'y former des bulles gazeuses. Une première impulsion ultrasonore, centrée sur une première fréquence, est dirigée sur les bulles, afin d'amener celles-ci à subir un premier changement de taille oscillant et afin de produire un premier signal d'écho oscillant correspondant à ce changement. Ce premier signal d'écho oscillant produit par les bulles est alors détecté et les bulles sont identifiées sur la base de ce premier signal d'écho ainsi détecté.
