An improved method and apparatus for conducting biometric high frequency ultrasound transducer (22) scanning of the human eye (10) permits the subject to assume a seated position and to place the eye (10) to be scanned in contact with the fluid medium (16) contained in an eye cup (30). In a prefered embodiment, the eye cup (30) is disposable after each use.
