ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A silicone oil and water emulsion composition which 18 relatively opaque towards ultraviolet light and which may serve as the basis for silicone vinyl polishes is provided. Blends of silicone oils may be emulified with anionic, cationic or nonionic emulsifiers and can be rendered UV absorbent when combined with certain silicone oil soluble ultraviolet light screening agents such as 2-ethylhexyl-2-cyano- 3,3-phenyl acrylate.
