Pushbroom and flash lidar operations outside the visible spectrum, most preferably in near-IR but also in IR and UV, are enabled by inserting - ahead of a generally conventional lidar receiver front end - a device that receives light scattered from objects and in response forms corresponding light of a different wavelength from the scattered light. Detailed implementations using arrays of discrete COTS components - most preferably PIN diodes and VCSELs, with intervening semicustom amplifiers - are discussed, as is use of a known monolithic converter. Differential and ratioing multispectral measurements, particularly including UV data, are enabled through either spatial-sharing (e.g. plural-slit) or time-sharing.

Le fonctionnement du lidar flash et de capteur en peigne à l'extérieur du spectre visible, idéalement dans le proche infrarouge mais également dans IR et U.V., est possible par l'insertion, en amont du frontal du récepteur lidar classique, un dispositif qui reçoit la lumière diffusée par des objets et forme en réponse une lumière correspondante possédant une longueur différente de celle de la lumière diffusée. Des implémentations dans lesquelle on utilise des groupements de composants COTS discrets, idéalement des diodes PIN et VCSEL, avec amplificateurs semi-personnalisés intermédiaires, sont présentées, ainsi que l'utilisation d'un convertisseur monolithique connu. Des mesures multispectrales différentielles et de mise à l'échelle, notamment des données U.V., sont rendues possibles par le partage spatial (ex.fente multiple) ou le partage temporel.
