ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An ultraviolet radiation curable silicone coating composition which, when applied to a solid substrate, provides an abrasion-resistant coating showing good adhesion, is disclosed herein. The coating composition is prepared from the hydrolysis products of alkoxy-functional silanes, acryloxy-functional silanes and/or glycidoxy-functional silanes. The coating is cured upon exposure to UV radiation which is facilitated by the addition of a cationic photoinitiator which may be utilized a conjunction with a radical photoinitiator.
