ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An under-mattress for bed furniture has an adjustable head part which can be continuously adjusted in its inclined position in both directions, without first having to be returned to its starting position. the horizontal pivoting axis of the head part is chosen such that it divides the head part into two sections, the smaller one of which is nearer the foot of the bed and, as the head part is raised, forms a hollow for the shoulder of a person lying on his side (Figures 2 and 13).
