ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved housing assembly for an underwater camera with a flash device is disclosed and includes a hollow cylindrical pressure housing. The hollow cylindrical pressure housing has a shell or wall inclu- ding a window for the objective of the camera and has a pressure tight head made of transparent material, in which the flash device is disposed. This pressure tight head made of transparent material permits wide angle illumination while reducing the expense of incorp- orating a flash device in a pressure housing. The pressure type head may be made of an acrylic glass and threadably engage the housing by means of a connector. The device also includes an O-ring seal positioned between to the pressure tight head and the pressure housing to maintain the water tight housing assembly.
