UNDERWATER CURING OF EPOXY RESIN AND AMINE-TERMINATED LIQUID POLYMER AND PRODUCT THEREOF ABSTRACT A mixture of an amine-terminated liquid polymer and a non-cycloaliphatic epoxy resin cures rapidly under water while displacing water on underwater surfaces and bonding strongly thereto. The mixture comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of at least one non-cycloaliphatic epoxy resin, (B) from about 1 to about 2,000 parts by weight of at least one amine-terminated liquid polymer having a carbon-carbon backbone, (C) optionally, a chain extender or crosslinker, (D) optionally, a curing agent, and (E) optionally, other compounding ingredients. The mixture is useful as an underwater repair putty, adhesive, coating, or the like.
