The invention concerns a device for launching and retrieving a sled used for geophysical research on the sea floor comprising a towing umbilical cable (1) linking the ship with the sled passing on a set of pulleys (7, 8) whereof the relative distances are controlled by a jack (2, 3) thereby enabling to release or take up a specific cable (1) length to obtain an interrupted movement of the sled.

Dispositif de yoyotage pour recherches géophysiques sur le fond de la mer à l'aide d'un traîneau. Un câble ombilical de traction (1) reliant le navire au traîneau passant sur un ensemble de poulies (7, 8) dont les distances relatives sont commandées par un vérin (2, 3) ce qui permet de relâcher ou de reprendre une longueur déterminée du câble (1) afin d'obtenir un mouvement discontinu du traîneau.
