A uniaxially heat-shrinkable, biaxially oriented, multilayer film for use as a tobacco pack or carton overwrap having a polypropylene-containing core layer comprising at least 70 wt.% of said multilayer film and at least one polyolefin-containing skin layer adjacent said core layer is prepared by biaxially orienting a coextrudate and thereafter orienting said coextrudate by stretching 10 to 40 % in the machine direction. The core layer contains isotactic polypropylene and a modifier which reduces the crystallinity of the polypropylene-containing core. Such modifiers can be selected from the group consisting of atactic polypropylene, syndiotactic polypropylene, ethylene- propylene copolymer, propylene-butene-1 copolymer, ethylene-propylene-butene terpolymer, and linear low density polyethylene. The skin layer can be selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, ethylene-propylene copolymer, polyethylene, and ethylene-propylene-butene-1 terpolymer and contains silicone oil.
Cette invention concerne un film multicouche à orientation biaxiale et à thermorétractabilité uniaxiale, destiné à être utilisé en tant que film de surenveloppe pour des paquets de tabac ou des boîtes de cigarettes. Ce film est formé d'une couche centrale contenant du polypropylène constituant au moins 70 % en poids dudit film multicouche et d'au moins une couche protectrice contenant de la polyoléfine, située adjacente à ladite couche centrale. Pour préparer ce film, on oriente biaxialement un coextrudat puis on oriente ce dernier en l'étirant de 10 à 40 % dans le sens machine. La couche centrale contient du polypropylène isotactique et un modificateur qui réduit la cristallinité du centre contenant du polypropylène. Ces modificateurs peuvent être sélectionnés dans le groupe formé par polypropylène atactique, polypropylène syndiotactique, copolymère d'éthylène propylène syndiotactique, copolymère de propylène-butène-1 syndiotactique, therpolymère d'éthylène-propylène-butène syndiotactique et de polyéthylène à faible densité linéaire. La couche protectrice peut être sélectionnée dans le groupe formé par polypropylène, copolymère d'éthylène-propylène, polyéthylène et therpolymère d'éthylène-propylène-butène-1 et contient de l'huile de silicone.
