A uniaxially heat-shrinkable, biaxially oriented, multilayer film having a polypropylene-containing core layer comprising at least 70 wt.% of said multilayer film and at least one polyolefin-containing skin layer adjacent said core layer is prepared by biaxially orienting a coextrudate and thereafter orienting said coextrudate by stretching 10 to 40 % in the machine direction. The core layer contains isotactic polypropylene and a modifier which reduces the crystallinity of the polypropylene by increasing chain imperfections or reducing isotacticity of the polypropylene-containing core. Such modifiers can be selected from the group consisting of atactic polypropylene, syndiotactic polypropylene, ethylene-propylene copolymer, propylene-butylene copolymer, ethylene-propylene-butylene terpolymer, and linear low density polyethylene. The skin layer can be selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, ethylene-propylene copolymer, polyethylene, and ethylene-propylene-butylene terpolymer.
Feuille multicouche à orientation biaxiale et à thermorétrécissement uniaxial, présentant une couche centrale contenant du polypropylène et constituant au moins 70 % en poids dudit film multicouche, et au moins une couche pelliculaire contenant une polyoléfine adjacente à ladite couche centrale. On produit cette feuille en orientant de manière biaxiale un produit de co-extrusion et en orientant ensuite ce produit en l'étirant de 10 à 40 % dans le sens machine. La couche centrale contient du polypropylène isotactique et un modificateur qui réduit la cristallinité du polypropylène en augmentant les imperfections de chaîne ou en réduisant l'isotacticité de la couche centrale contenant du polypropylène. De tels modificateurs peuvent être choisis dans le groupe composé de polypropylène atactique, de polypropylène syndiotactique, d'un copolymère d'éthylène-propylène, d'un copolymère de propylène-butylène, d'un terpolymère d'éthylène-propylène-butylène et de polyéthylène linéaire de basse densité. La couche pelliculaire peut être choisie dans le groupe composé de polypropylène, d'un copolymère d'éthylène-propylène, de polyéthylène et d'un terpolymère d'éthylène-propylène-butylène.
