An abrasive flow machining and polishing apparatus is provided having a hydraulically actuated reciprocating, piston (42) and a extrusion medium chamber (10) adapted to receive and extrude a visco elastic dispersion of an abrasive unidirectionally across the internal surfaces of a workpiece (40) having internal passages (41) formed therein to perform abrasive work on said surfaces. A fixture (24) directs How of the viscoelastic abrasive dispersion from said hydraulic extrusion medium chamber (10) into the inlet of internal passages (41) in a workpiece (40), while a collector (30) is set to gravitrimetrically collect flow of the viscoelastic abrasive dispersion as it extrudes form an outlet of the internal passages and drops into the collector. The extrusion medium chamber (10) is provided with an access port (16) to periodically receive gravimetric return flow of the viscoelastic abrasive dispersion from the collector (30) into extrusion medium chamber (10).

L'invention concerne un appareil d'usinage et de polissage utilisant l'écoulement d'un abrasif, ayant un piston (42) à mouvement alternatif actionné hydrauliquement et une chambre (10) d'extrusion agencée pour recevoir et pour extruder une dispersion viscoélastique d'un abrasif, d'une manière unidirectionnelle au droit de surfaces internes d'une pièce à usiner (40) ayant des passages internes (41), pour effectuer un travail d'abrasion sur lesdites surfaces. Un appareil (24) dirige le flux de dispersion viscoélastique d'abrasif de ladite chambre hydraulique d'extrusion (10) jusqu'à l'entrée des passages internes (41) dans une pièce à usiner (40), pendant qu'un collecteur (30) est disposé pour recevoir par gravité le flux de dispersion viscoélastique d'abrasif, à mesure qu'elle est extrudée de la sortie du passage interne. La chambre d'extrusion (10) est pourvue d'un orifice d'accès (16) pour recevoir périodiquement, par gravité, le flux de la dispersion viscoélastique d'abrasif venant du collecteur (30).
