The invention concerns a unidirectional circularly polarized antenna, of the type comprising a radiating element (8) associated with a frequency filter (1, 2). The antenna in accordance with the invention is characterized in that it includes a device that is selective in polarization (5, 6) placed in transition between the frequency filter and a polarizing means (7) designed to provide circular polarization of the wave. This multimode selective device is designed to (1) permit propagation of an initial outgoing mode (Ma), (2) pass in transmission one of the return modes (Rh) induced by the polarizing means, and (3) reflect the other return mode (Rv). In the polarizer, the wave consisting of the inital mode and the reflected return modes strengthens the circular polarization of the initial wave. Such an antenna can be manufactured in a single operation with less bulk and weight than known unidirectional circular polarization antennas.
L'invention concerne une antenne à polarisation circulaire un sens, du type comprenant un élément rayonnant (8) associé à un filtre fréquentiel (1, 2). L'antenne conforme à l'invention se caractérise en ce qu'elle comprend un dispositif sélectif en polarisation (5, 6) disposé en transition entre le filtre fréquentiel et un moyen polariseur (7) adapté pour assurer une polarisation circulaire de l'onde. Ce dispositif sélectif multimode est adapté pour (1) permettre la propagation d'un mode aller initial (Ma), (2) laisser passer en émission un des modes retour (Rh) induit par le moyen polariseur, et (3) réfléchir l'autre mode retour (Rv). Au niveau du polariseur, l'onde composée du mode initial et des modes retour réfléchis renforce la polarisation circulaire de l'onde initiale. Une telle antenne peut être fabriquée d'un seul tenant avec un encombrement et un poids réduits par rapport aux antennes connues à polarisation circulaire un sens.
