In a browser for accessing web servers on the Internet, it is known that the browser sends requests to web servers and gets responses from the web servers by using Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). The network architecture whereon the browser and the web servers work is known as Client/Server architecture. In this invention, browsing capabilities and serving capabilities are integrated into a single program so that instances of such a program can browse one another as well as serve one another. In other words, any instance of such a program can browse others and be browsed by others. The network architecture whereon this inventive program works is known as Peer-to-Peer (P2P) architecture. The communication among the instances of this inventive program is based on Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) that is further based on JXTA pipes.
