-1- Abstract of the Disclosure An electrical ribbon cable (10) containing a plurality of longitudinally extending, individually insulated wire pairs (12) being twisted together. An insulator (14) is bonded to the plurality of wire pairs (12) during only a portion of each individual twist of the wire pairs (12). The insulator (14) holds the plurality of wire pairs (12) in a fixed planar relationship. The wire pairs (12) have a uniform twist period (16) and have transversely aligned crossover points (18) between wire pairs (12). The resultant cable (10) combines the desirable electrical characteristics of a twisted pair cable with the desirable connectability characteristics of a parallel lay electrical ribbon cable.
