Disclosed is an apparatus for equilibrating component tensions in a multicomponent filamentary yarn which is advancing in a primary direction. The apparatus includes a series of yarn guides arranged so that the multicomponent filamentary yarn deviates both horizontally and vertically from the primary direction. This deviation advantageously prevents predominance of one component in an air entangled yarn made from two or more different colored or different dye affinity bulked continuous filament feed yarns without unsuitably increasing the overall tension. The apparatus exploits the surprising discovery that components themselves, with appropriate manipulations, can be used cooperatively to equalize tensions. One aspect of this discovery guides the components to run nearly immediately on top of each other so that they travel in unison.
La présente invention concerne un appareil pour équilibrer les tensions composantes dans un fil de filaments composite qui progresse dans une direction principale. L'appareil comporte une série de guides-fils disposés de façon à faire dévier le fil de filaments composite horizontalement et verticalement par rapport à sa direction primaire. Cette déviation a l'avantage d'empêcher un des composants de prédominer dans le fil enchevêtré par air, lequel est formé d'au moins deux fils d'alimentation constitués de filaments continus gonflants de couleurs ou d'affinités tinctoriales différentes, sans augmenter au-delà de limites convenables la tension globale du fil. L'appareil exploite une découverte étonnante selon laquelle les composants eux-mêmes, pour autant qu'ils soient correctement manipulés, peuvent être utilisés en association pour équilibrer les tensions. Une des caractéristiques de la présente invention guide les composants pour qu'ils soient très près l'un au-dessus de l'autre, de manière qu'ils avancent à la même vitesse.
