ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A resection prosthesis assembly unit comprises a head member and an end member of which one member is provided with a conical pin and the other member is provided with a conical bore. At least one intermediate member is provided which is adapted to the pin and/or the bore and the different parts, which abut when assembled, are secured against rotation by means of mutually adapted shaped portions. In the interface regions between adjacent parts, there is disposed at least one recess formed in the otherwise uniform outer contour of at least one of the parts. The recess as a whole, when in a position aligned with the implant, accommodates a wedge for separating the two parts, and facing abutment faces are provided at both parts in an essentially transverse orientation to absorb the force exerted by the wedge in separating the two parts.
