-9- Unitary Installation of Engine Cylinder Liner, Piston and Rod Abstract To service an engine, it is frequently determined that a cylinder liner and piston must be replaced. It is difficult and time consuming to first install the liner and then the piston with the rings and connecting rod. A pre-assembled unit including the liner and piston may be installed on the engine according to a disclosed method. The unitary assembly simplifies steps at the service facility and, if desired, permits assembly of the unit prior to shipment to the service facility to reduce shipping space and cost.
