ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus allowing relative lengthwise adjustability and securement of two long members lying parallel; in the example a fishing-rod handle has a reel attached to it using an embodiment of the invention: a tube fitted over the rod-handle and an annular ring fitted over both the rod-handle and a base extension from the reel. Notches on one exterior surface of the tube and a bevel on the opposing interior surface of the annular ring allow the reel base extension to force a projection from the annular ring down into a notch and stop the relative motion of the reel and the rod handle. When the reel is not in place, the device can easily be moved to a new notch For adjustment; when the reel is inserted, it is secured with a common clamp on the side away from the annular ring.
