ABSTRACT A desk configuration in which the visual display unit and keyboard of a computer terminal are stored beneath the work surface thereof so as to provide maximum work space on the desk top, while providing optimum viewing of the visual display by utilizing otherwise unused space beneath the desk. The unit is slidable from the storage position to an operating position in which the keyboard is extended out from beneath the desk and the visual display unit is visible through a transparent window in the work surface. Preferably the entire slidable unit is in the form of a moulded plastics shell having adjustable friction pads to hold and adjust the visual display unit.
