A universal tape including a housing formed with a downward extending cylindrical hole on a lateral side. A lower end of the cylindrical hole is disposed with a pen tip opening. An inner wall of the cylindrical hole is disposed with intersecting cross lines which outward extend to define a cut right angle. The tape is marked with scales such as metric system scale, scale and other scales. The tape is further formed with a circle center hole. The universal tape has the functions of drafting a circle, measuring whether an article is vertical and measuring the horizontal distance between two points on different levels.

Le mètre à ruban universel comprenant un boîtier formé d'un trou cylindrique s'étendant vers le bas sur un côté latéral. La partie inférieure du trou cylindrique est munie d'une ouverture en bout de porte-plume. Une paroi intérieure du trou cylindrique est munie de lignes croisées de réticule qui s'étendent à l'extérieur pour définir un angle droit. Le ruban possède des échelles comme le système métrique, le système impérial(?) et autres. Il est en outre muni d'un trou central circulaire. Le mètre à ruban universel permet de tracer des cercles, de déterminer si un objet est vertical et de mesurer la distance horizontale entre deux points placés à des niveaux différents.
