This invention provides a method and apparatus to provide a clear visual indication of the operational status of a current carrying circuit and more specifically that of a remote air heating or cooling system when installed in conjunction with a low voltage thermostat. The apparatus is a low cost device universally adaptable to new or existing mechanical and electronic thermostats. The apparatus will operate over a wide range of current loads and does not require external power. The apparatus provides a method of determining the point at which a thermostat will switch and in a multi-thermostat system, provides a method of determining which thermostats are active.
