A universal wheel operated winch (10) includes a drum (18) with a cylindrical outer surface (20) for receiving a cable (14) wound thereupon, and at least three rigid arms (22), each adjustably associated with the drum (18). Each arm (22) terminates in an end portion configured to engage an edge of an aperture (28) in a wheel hub (12). The adjustability of the arms (22) allows adjustment of a radial distance from the central axis of the drum to the end portion, thereby accommodating wheel hub apertures with differing radial spacing. The winch preferably also offers adjustability as to the angular spacing of the arms about the axis.
L'invention concerne un treuil actionné par les roues universel (10) comprenant un tambour (18) possédant une surface externe (20) destinée à l'enroulement d'un câble (14), et au moins trois bras rigides (22) fixés de façon réglable sur le tambour (18). Chaque bras (22) se termine par une extrémité conçue pour entrer en prise avec le bord d'une ouverture (28) située dans le moyeu de la roue (12). Les bras (22) peuvent être réglés pour modifier la distance radiale entre l'axe central du tambour et l'extrémité, ce qui permet d'obtenir un meilleur réglage par rapport à des ouvertures de moyeu de roue présentant des distances radiales différentes. De préférence, l'espace angulaire des bras autour de l'axe peut également être réglé.
