ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A universal wrench having at least one open wrench element attached to the end of a handle, or to a device at the end of the handle, designed to clamp the head of a bolt, or the like fastener, to be held, in such a manner that the wrench element is pivotable, in its gripping plane, in relation to the handle, characterized in that the device consists of an attachment having teeth in the form of rounded recesses and similarly rounded projections and of two jaws displaceable in relation to each other, the first of which also has projections and recesses matching the teeth on the attachment and engaging therewith, while the second is adapted to pivot about an axis of rotation mounted in the attachment, and in that recesses are arranged in the insides of the jaws.
