ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Styrene-soluble unsaturated polyesters useful for the preparation of improved gel coats are described. The diol component of the unsaturated polyester is comprised of from 10 to 100 mole percent 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol. The improved gel coats provided by this invention have unexpectedly high weather resistance, flexibility, tensile strength, hardness, and modulus.
