ABSTRACT Apparatus for unwinding feed rolls of web material has a double- armed capstan frame the arms of which are interconnected at their ends by cross-bars. On opposite sides of the frame are two outer pairs and an intermediate pair of support arms the ends of which carry clamping heads to provide a rotary support for the feed rolls during unwinding. The support arms are axially adjustable to accommodate various widths of rolls, and the intermediate pair can be moved to a position adjacent one of the end pairs and the clamping heads connected to rotate with those of that end pair.
