ABSTRACT The invention is concerned with novel uracil derivatives having the general formula: Image (I) wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group or Image (wherein n is 0 or 1: R4, R5 and R6 are the same or different and represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkenyloxy group, a hydroxy group, an acyloxy group, a halogen atom or a nitro group, and two of R4, R5 and R6 may be taken together to form an alkylene dioxy group), R2 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R3 is a hydrogen atom, an acyl group, an unsubstituted or alkylsubstituted phenylsulfonyl group or an alkyl- sulfonyl group, and X is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group which may be substituted with one or more halogen atoms, and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compounds of the invention have good antitumor activity and, therefore, are useful as antitumor agents.
