ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for the in-situ solution mining of argillaceous uranium ore deposits is provided. In this process, an aqueous leaching solution is used which contains a potassium salt, the anion thereof capable of forming a water-soluble complex anion with a urinal cation, preferably a potassium carbonate. An oxidant such as hydrogen peroxide can be added to solubilize uranium.
