ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention relates to a method for the enzymic-colorimetric determination of urea comprising steps of admixing the sample to be tested with a composite reagent con- taining urease, a buffer, a salicylate and an oxychlorination reaction catalyst selected from the group constituted by the nitroprusside and aquopentacyanoferrate, incubating the resulting mixture, adding a hypochlorite, subjecting the mixture to an additional incubation, and photometrically determining the amount of urea present. The present invention has the advantage to carry out the aforesaid method with a reduce number of stops and reagents.
