A specimen container has a relatively large opening defined by a rim. A twist-off cap closes the opening and includes a hole of substantially smaller diameter than the rim. An impermeable liner is provided between the twist-off cap and the rim. The liner is adapted for piercing with the tip of a pipette for removal of a sample or by a decanter insert having a lower end adapted to pierce the liner, and a midportion sized to make a close fit in said hole for supporting the upper end of the decanter insert.

Cette invention concerne un contenant à échantillon à ouverture relativement large à rebord fermé par un capuchon à visser comportant un trou de diamètre sensiblement plus petit que l'ouverture du contenant, trou obturé par une membrane imperméable intercalée entre le bord du contenant et le capuchon. La membrane est conçue pour pouvoir être percée pour fins de prélèvement par la pointe d'une pipette ou par un dispositif de prélèvement à embout affûté comportant une partie intermédiaire dimensionnée pour un ajustement serré dans le trou du capuchon et une embase pour prendre appui sur le dessus de ce dernier.
