A usage counter (10) has input terminals (11 and 12) connectable to the terminals of a jump-starting battery pack (15). The counter has an IC comparator (21) which generates an output signal when battery voltage drops below a predetermined reference level. If the output signal persists for a predetermined time period, indicating an attempt to jump-start an engine with the battery pack (15), an IC timer (31) is triggered to output a count pulse which is inverted by inverter (40) and then counted, as well as displayed by an IC counter/display circuit (45). The usage counter circuit (10) is powered by the battery pack (15) and has a Zener diode (17) which provides to the IC circuits a limited supply voltage which is unaffected by voltage spikes which might appear at the battery pack terminals. A capacitor (36) maintains the reference voltage level despite momentary drops in battery terminal voltage.
Un compteur d'utilisateur (10) comporte des bornes d'entrées (11) et (12) qui peuvent être connectées aux bornes d'un bloc d'alimentation (15) de démarrage d'appoint. Le compteur comprend un comparateur (21) à circuit intégré (CI) qui génère un signal de sortie lorsque le tension du bloc d'alimentation chute en deçà d'un niveau de référence prédéterminé. Si le signal de sortie se maintient pendant une durée prédéfinie, ce qui indique une tentative de démarrer un moteur de manière provisoire avec le bloc d'alimentation (15), une horloge CI (31) est déclenchée pour délivrer une impulsion de comptage qui est inversée par un inverseur (40) puis comptée et affichée par un circuit (45) de compteur/affichage CI. Le circuit (10) de compteur d'utilisateur est alimenté par le bloc d'alimentation (15) et la diode Zener (17) qu'il comporte envoie aux circuits CI une tension d'alimentation limitée qui n'est pas affectée par les variations brusques de la tension pouvant apparaître au niveau des bornes du bloc d'alimentation. Un condensateur (36) maintient le niveau de tension de référence en dépit des chutes momentanées de la tension au niveau des bornes du bloc d'alimentation.
