The subject matter of the invention is the use, as an aqueous-paint thickener, of an aqueous solution of a polyether of at least one polyoxyalkylene and of at least one alpha-olefin epoxide, and/or of at least one aliphatic or aromatic glycidyl ether, and at least one surfactant of chemical formula Cx H2x+1 - (OX) y - OH where OX denotes an oxyalkylated unit, and characterized in that: - for the polyether, the (polyoxyalkylene:alpha-olefin epoxide or glycidyl ether) molar ratio is between (1:4) and (1:10), - for the surfactant, 6 < x = 12 and 5 < y < 12, - said solution has a (polyether/surfactant) mass ratio of between 2.0 and 0.5 and has a water content of between 30% and 75% of the total weight thereof. The subject matter of the invention is also the paint containing such a thickening system.

L'invention a pour objet l'utilisation, comme agent épaississant pour peinture aqueuse, d'une solution aqueuse d'un polyéther d'au moins un polyoxyalkylène et d'au moins un époxyde d'alpha- oléfines, et / ou d'au moins un éther de glycidyl aliphatique ou aromatique, et au moins un tensio-actif de formule chimique Cx H2x+1 - (OX) y - OH où OX désigne un motif oxyalky lé, et caractérisé en ce que : - pour le polyéther, le ratio molaire (polyoxyalkylène : époxyde d'alpha-oléfine ou éther de glycidyl) est compris entre (1:4) et (1:10), - pour le tensio-actif, 6< x<= 12 et 5 <y < 12, - ladite solution présente ratio massique (polyéther / tensio-actif) compris entre 2,0 et 0,5 et présente une teneur en eau comprise entre 30 % et 75 % de son poids total. Elle a également pour objet la peinture contenant un tel système épaississant.
