The invention discloses the use as cosmetic product of cross-linked and at least 90 % neutralised poly(2-acrylamido 2-methylpropane sulphonic acid) polymers. They comprise in general, distributed randomly: a) 90 to 99.9 wt.% of units of general formula (1) in which X?+¿ represents a cation or a mixture of cations, at most 10 % mol of the cations X?+¿ can be protons H?+¿; b) 0.01 to 10 wt.% of cross-linking units derived from at least one monomer having at least two olefinic double-bonds; the weight proportions being defined with respect to the polymer total weight. The invention concerns particularly their use as thickening and/or gelling agent in cosmetic and/or dermatological compositions.

La présente demande concerne l'utilisation comme produit cosmétique de polymères poly(acide 2-acrylamido 2-méthylpropane sulfonique) réticulés et neutralisés à au moins 90 %. Ils comprennent en général, distribués de façon aléatoire: (a) de 90 à 99,9 % en poids de motifs de formule générale (1) dans laquelle X+ désigne un cation ou un mélange de cations, au plus 10 % mol des cations X+ pouvant être des protons H+; (b) de 0,01 à 10 % en poids de motifs réticulants provenant d'au moins un monomère ayant au moins deux doubles- liaisons oléfiniques; les proportions en poids étant définies par rapport au poids total du polymère.
