2123872 9309670 PCTABS00022 Proposed is the use of 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-tris-alkylaminocarboxylic acid derivatives of the general formula (I): 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-tris[NH-(CH2)n-CO-O-R1] as biocidal or biostatic agents in aqueous systems, in particular in lubricating coolants. Fungicides such as pyrithion or its derivatives and/or N-alkyldiazenium dioxide salts may be added to the aqueous systems. From 0.05 to 0.40 % by wt. of 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-alkylaminocarboxylic acid derivatives and from 0.0001 to 0.2 % by wt. of fungicide are sufficient to maintain the biocidal or biostatic action.
