The invention provides a compound of formula (I) wherein R1 to R5, n, X, Y and Z have any of the values defined in the specification; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; for use in medical therapy, and in particular, for use in treating an elastase-mediated pathology. The invention also provides novel compounds of formula (I), and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, as well as pharmaceutical compositions comprising compounds of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts. The invention also provides the use of a compound of formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to prepare a medicament for treating an elastase-mediated pathology.
