The present invention discloses complexes comprising: a) at least one polymer of the general formula: (see above formula) wherein: the degree of polymerization p ranges from 2 to 1000000, R1, R2 and R3, independently of one another in each [CH - CH2] repeat, are selected from H, alkyl of 1 to 20 carbon atoms or aryl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms, n is 0 or 1, with the proviso that at least one n is 1 in the full length of the polymer, and b) at least one nucleic acid. Further disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions comprising these complexes which can be used for infra cellular delivery of nucleic acids.
