The invention concerns a process for converting light energy from a laser to heat energy at the surface of the skin using a composition containing at least one chromophore, remarkable in that (1) a composition containing at least one chromophore in a physiologically acceptable carrier is applied to the said surface of the skin, this composition and the thickness of application providing absrobency for the laser wavelength such that the light energy transmitted to the skin causes no irreversible undesirable damage to tissues or cells, (2) a laser is directed onto the said surface of the skin, the irradiation produced by the laser causing the light energy to be converted to heat energy locally where the composition was applied. More specifically, the heat energy produced in the composition in a single laser blast propagates by conduction into the skin by conduction, causing the local temperature to rise to over 100 degrees C causing volatilization of the tissue. A new skin forms after tissue volatilization, resulting in younger and/or more attractive skin.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour transformer à la surface de la peau une énergie lumineuse d'un rayonnement laser en énergie thermique utilisant une composition comprenant au moins un chromophore, caractérisé en ce que (1) on applique sur ladite surface de la peau une composition comprenant, dans un support physiologiquement acceptable, au moins un chromophore, cette composition et son épaisseur appliquée présentant à la longueur d'onde d'émission du laser une absorbance telle que l'énergie lumineuse transmise dans la peau n'engendre aucun dommage tissulaire ou cellulaire irréversible non désiré, (2) on applique sur ladite surface de la peau un rayonnement laser, l'irradiation produite par le laser permettant d'obtenir localement au niveau de la composition appliquée la transformation de l'énergie lumineuse en énergie thermique. Plus particulièrement, l'énergie thermique produite au niveau de la composition durant un seul tir laser va pouvoir se propager par conduction à l'intérieur de la peau, augmentant localement la température à plus de 100 °C afin d'obtenir une volatilisation tissulaire. Après volatilisation tissulaire, une nouvelle peau se reforme présentant un aspect plus jeune et/ou moins disgracieux.
