The present invention provides the use of a cyclopentenone prostaglandin in the manufacture of a medicament for delaying the onset and/or preventing the continuation of labour in a female. Preferably the cyclopentenone prostaglandin prevents and/or reduces an inflammatory response in the reproductive system of a female. Preferably, the cyclopentenone prostaglandin is 15-deoxy-.DELTA.12,14-prostaglandin J2 or prostaglandin A1, or a precursor thereof. The invention further provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising cyclopentenone prostaglandin and methods of use thereof.
La présente invention concerne l'utilisation d'une cyclopentènone prostaglandine dans la fabrication d'un médicament destiné à retarder le début et/ou empêcher la continuation du travail chez une femme. De préférence, la cyclopentènone prostaglandine empêche et/ou réduit une réponse inflammatoire dans le système de reproduction d'une femme. De préférence, la cyclopentènone prostaglandine est une 15-désoxy-??12,14¿-prostaglandine J¿2? ou prostaglandine A¿1?, ou un précurseur de celle-ci. L'invention concerne également une composition pharmaceutique contenant la cyclopentènone prostaglandine ainsi que ses procédés d'utilisation.
