This invention relates to a method for treatment and prevention of obesity, an overweight condition or for controlling body weight reduction, wherein an effective amount of a fatty acid composition comprising at least one of (all-Z omega-3)-5,8,11,14,17-eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and (all-Z omega-3)- 4,7,10,13,16,19-docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) or any combinations thereof, is administered to a human or an animal. The present invention also relates to use of the fatty acid composition above for manufacture of a medicinal product for controlling body weight reduction, and for treatment and prevention of obesity or an overweight condition. Moreover, the present invention also relates to use of a fatty acid composition comprising at least one of EPA and DHA or any combinations thereof, for the manufacture of a food stuff or food supplement for controlling and supporting body weight reduction and for prevention of body weight gain. Additionally, the present invention also includes a dietary product containing a fatty acid composition comprising at least one of EPA and DHA or any combinations thereof, for non-medical treatment of obesity, an overweight condition and/or for supporting and controlling body weight reduction. Finally, the present invention relates to a method for supplementing a dietary product with a fatty acid composition mentioned above.
L'invention concerne une méthode de traitement et de prévention de l'obésité, de la surcharge pondérale ou de régulation d'une réduction du poids corporel par administration à un être humain ou animal d'une quantité efficace d'une composition d'acides gras qui contient au moins un acide 5,8,11,14,17-eicosapentaenoïque (omega 3 tout Z) (EPA) et un acide 4,7,10,13,16,19-docosahexaenoïque (omega 3 tout Z) (DHA) ou des combinaisons de ceux-ci. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation de cette composition d'acides gras pour préparer un produit médicinal pour régler la réduction du poids corporel et pour traiter et prévenir l'obésité ou la surcharge pondérale. En outre, l'invention concerne l'utilisation d'une composition d'acides gras qui comprend au moins un EPA et un DHA ou des combinaisons de ceux-ci, pour produire un aliment ou un complément alimentaire pour régler et aider la réduction du poids corporel et pour prévenir la prise de poids corporel. L'invention concerne également un produit diététique qui contient une composition d'acides gras comprenant au moins un EPA et un DHA ou des combinaisons de ceux-ci, pour le traitement non médical de l'obésité, de la surcharge pondérale et/ou pour aider et régler la réduction du poids corporel. Finalement, l'invention concerne une méthode d'enrichissement d'un produit diététique avec cette composition d'acides gras.
