ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The present invention relates to the use of a tripeptide consisting of L-Ala (alanine) and L-Arg (arginine), or its salts thereof and having the following structure: Arg-Ala- Arg for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition useful as an immunostimulant. The above tripeptide indeed has a strong immunostimulating activity both on maturation of immature T cells and on T cell function. Compositions comprising this tripeptide or its salts thereof in admixture with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier are also disclosed.
