The use of at least one C4 alcohol to increase the vapour pressure of a fuel for spark-ignition engines comprising base fuel and ethanol in which use the at least one C4 alcohol is added to a fuel comprising base fuel and ethanol to produce a resultant fuel mixture comprising 15-50 % by volume of base fuel, 15-65 % by volume of ethanol and 15 to 50 % C4 alcohol. The resultant fuel mixture exhibits an adequately high vapour pressure, for example, which meets the specification, and also exhibits a good start behaviour even at winter temperatures.
L'invention porte sur l'utilisation d'au moins un alcool en C4 pour augmenter la pression de vapeur d'un carburant pour moteurs à allumage par étincelle comprenant un carburant de base et de l'éthanol, utilisation selon laquelle le ou les alcools en C4 sont ajoutés à un combustible comprenant un carburant de base et de l'éthanol pour produire un mélange carburant résultant comprenant 15 à 50 % en volume de carburant de base, 15 à 65 % en volume d'éthanol et 15 à 50 % d'alcool en C4. Le mélange carburant résultant présente une pression de vapeur élevée de façon suffisante, par exemple, qui satisfait aux spécifications, et présente également un bon comportement au démarrage même aux températures hivernales.
