-0- THE USE OF ANIONIC SURFACTANTS TO PREVENT THE REDUCTION OF COMPOUNDS BY GRAM-POSITIVE MICROORGANISMS Abstract of the Disclosure Disclosed herein is a process for substantially preventing the reduction of a compound in admixture with a gram-positive microorganism capable of reducing said compound comprising including in said admixture an anionic surfactant in an amount sufficient to inhibit the reduction capability of the gram-positive microorganisms. The process provides a means for rapidly differentiating between gram-positive and gram-negative micro- organisms.
