The invention concerns the use of arabinoxylans or a substance rich in arabinoxylans for preparing a composition for preventing or treating disorders or pathologies related to metabolic dysfunction in humans or animals, and more particularly hypercholesterolemia. The invention also concerns a product comprising vegetable fibres, as food or medicine, characterised in that it contains between 2 and 20 % of arabinoxylans or a substance rich in arabinoxylans.

La présente invention concerne l'utilisation d'arabinoxylanes ou d'une substance riche en arabinoxylanes pour la préparation d'une composition destinée à prévenir ou traiter des désordres ou des pathologies liés à des dysfonctionnements métaboliques chez l'homme ou l'animal, et plus particulièrement l'hypercholestérolémie. L'invention se rapporte aussi à un produit comprenant des fibres végétales, comme un aliment ou un médicament, caractérisé en ce qu'il contient entre 2 et 20 % d'arabinoxylanes ou d'une substance riche en arabinoxylanes.
