USE OF BALL SEALERS IN CO2 OR STEAM INJECTION WELLS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for diverting CO2 or steam injection in injection wells connective via perforations with zones of relatively high and low permeabllity. Perforation ball sealers are first injected into the well in a carrier liquid, then CO2 or steam injection commences. Preferably the ball sealers comprise polymer compounds covered with a thin coating of elastomer of low enough density to float in the injected fluids, which can withstand the adverse conditions of CO2 or steam injection.
