A method of treating Candida albicans infection is disclosed. In one embodiment, for treatment of oral or vaginal infection, the treatment is by topical application of a composition of conjugates that are each composed of a carrier structure and multiple .beta.GalNac(1-4).beta.Gal moieties attached to the structure. In another embodiment, for treatment of systemic infection, the treatment is by parenteral administration of a humanized form of a mouse monoclonal antibody produced by mouse hybridoma cell line Fm16 or cell line PK99H.

Selon un mode de réalisation se rapportant au traitement d'une infection buccale ou vaginale, le traitement s'effectue par application locale d'une composition de conjugués composés chacun d'une structure porteuse et de plusieurs fractions .beta.GalNac(1-4).beta.Gal fixées à cette structure. Selon un autre mode de réalisation se rapportant au traitement d'une infection générale, le traitement s'effectue par administration parentérale d'une forme humanisée d'un anticorps monoclonal murin produit par la lignée cellulaire Fm16 ou PK99H d'hybridome murin.
