ABSTRACT Use of cement-free vibration masses containing aluminium oxide and/or zirconium dioxide for the production of wearing parts. The invention concerns the use of cement-free vibration masses containing aluminium oxide and/or zirconium dioxide, if required with the addition of up to 10% by mass of chromic oxide (Cr2O3), silicon carbide (SiC) and/or carbon carriers, as well as containing 2 to 8% by mass, relative to the remaining solid components, of amorphous, finely particled or colloidal silicic acid as binding agent, and which, are tempered, or calcined after forming and drying at temperatures of 300 to 1000°C, for the production of wearing parts in slide gates coming into contact with liquid metals, in particular steel melts.
